No. It's that bad. It represents regression and superficiality.
Vocals are fucking weak BECAUSE they are overproduced.

if the songs are concise, played well, and enjoyable, then what exactly is the problem with this
(over-exaggerated) genericism?
---
That's why a scale of judgement exists in the first place. An album that brings out nothing can
achieve at least a "great" rating. This is not fresh, this is not great, this is average at its best
. In a site mostly populated by elitists and people who throw 1.5 at everything "for teh lulz", the
main review of this disc baffles me: this pure and plain mainstream metalcore coming out from a Rise
Records band. Where is this supposed "fantastic guitar work"? Have you ever heard a fantastic guitar
work? Praise to Mullins' growl? All I hear is basic overproduced stuff (which is, unfortunately, the
norm nowadays) which I don't know how would sound live (with all the harmonies blasted by the stereo
and blabla) as I've yet to see them live (saw some videos, can't judge).
TL;DR: overenthusiastic review made by a blatantly fan of the band and of mainstream/chuggy-chorus
friendly metalcore.

I don't give a shit how "well done" something is, if I've heard it thousands of times before, I won't like it
If you listen to generic crap...at least admit it

Lol I don't listen only to Memphis May Fire. I also prefer my music to bring something new. I won't say it's bad just because I've heard that sound before, that's just the difference between you and me. Don't need to be so mean about it.

Lawl.

Just so you know matty kills it live. he's slays as a vocalist and hits both the clean and harsh vox.

This album is why I cant stand this genre most of the time. This band is one of the most generic bands around. Their only saving grace is that they at least sound somewhat decent live.

Also, Matt Mullins is a very good singer.

One of the most generic bands around? Ever heard of those bands who don't even have fucking guitar riffs? Like 80% of other today's metalcore?
|
| |
So it's excellent because it's not brainless drivel?
Sleepwalking was fun. This is...depressing.

We don't have to pick the lesser of 2 evils
|

Granted, it's pretty generic for a metal album since most metalcore these days sounds similar.
Though 'Prove Me Right' and a couple others on here have awesome riffs and breakdowns that are ACTUALLY TOLERABLE. (And that's saying something)

yeah dude this shit isnt as bad (or good) as people make it out to be. i'd say a deserving 3
