Rules hard. This is the only leprous that I love front to back.

Wow this is like the exact opposite of Pitfalls in terms of style. Think i definitely should have listened to these guys in chronological order

yeah this is good though, dunno why i put it off for so long. Think the bold in your face way the album starts was a little off putting and i wanted something a little more mellow so i started with Coal

very few musicians are able to work together and create some sort of magic where the whole is a hell of a lot greater than the sum of its parts ....we all have those albums in our collections and probably not many of them

Bilateral is one of those albums for me.

How do you even write this shit?

Agreed though, one of a kind album tbh. So many stylistic extremes merged so seemlessly, it's amazing how they composed this album, and being in their early 20s. I don't jam this as religiously as I used to, but still a great album

I always thought they lost one of their creative minds when Oystein left. Tor is great as well but seems more subservient to Einar. Oystein would still add interesting parts regardless

Yep exactly. He composed a lot of great songs as well. Pretty much contributed to half of TPS and almost half of this

Don't forget Aeolian my dudes, it has some great piano work from Einar, when he wasn't solely a performer.

I don't think Einar is solely a performer now, but I think I get what you're saying.

The performance of the Sky is Red begs to differ. Did he even touch the keyboards?

I haven't seen that. He still sings his ass off though. He hasn't taken up ballet just yet.

"Wasn't solely a performer"? What does that even mean

I took it to mean he comes off as more of a "frontman" now. The older days felt like he was more embedded in the band... jamming more.
