imagine how much an insufferable douche you would look like at a party if i'm trying to jam
fuckin problems and you come over here with some krs one or whatever rap nerds find elite and force
that down everyone's throats.
Intelligent women dig how mature KRS is and how he respects women. I couldn't care less what some
dude getting a boner while listening to Drake thinks about him, that's my cue to find a new party.

This album is a good mainstream hip-hop album with a mix of bangers and some street stuff, not a classic but the ratings here are too low

the ratings are low cuz 50 cent proved to be nothing but a movie star doubling as a rapper who was carried by production, his next CD was garbage without the help from Dre

Good thing he starred in a movie two years after this came out or else your point would be totally invalid

The movie of 50 cent is awful, at least this album and his 2000 LP are more tolerable, but the movie and the massacre and curtis are a crime against hip hop. 50 has always been predictable, generic and less talented than his contemporaries, the only thing I can give credit to 50 is that this album has a bunch of ok songs and that there is far worse hip hop out there like soulja boy, piles, lil b or gucci mane

50 cents is a real man, I often look up to him and I jam his music all the time.
This thread is a speed bump in music town.

Eh this is still a great album and a cornerstone of hip hop in the last 15 years in my and a lot of
other people's eyes. Everything he did after it mostly sucked and the guy has made some awful career
choices since but it doesn't take away from how great of an album this is. Production is some of Dre's
best non-solo work, the guest spots are fantastic, and 50 sounds hungry and actually puts together
some decent verses. It's not perfect and has some weak spots for sure but songs like "Patiently
Waiting", "Many Men", "High All the Time", and "Heat" are all top notch.

"Good thing he starred in a movie two years after this came out or else your point would be totally invalid "
yeah because if points aren't taken 100% literally they are invalid...
'movie star' means he is playing a role (pretending he smokes weed) and hyping up his persona (he got shot 6 times), and that he isn't being a genuine artist who got where he is because of musical skills and thus is a one hit wonder with no ingenuity or originality.

I actually do think his future albums are relevant to the enjoy-ability and quality of this one.
everything you said is true, Dre production was excellent, features were excellent and he sounded
hungry and decent.... until people heard his next albums, then you go back to this and focus in on
his
lyrics and realize he sounds like an infant child just learning to speak.
Also The Game, Nas, GZA and others kinda lyrically bitch slapped him and took away his prestige that
his music relied on, because to enjoy most the lines 50 writes on here the listener has to actually
believe 50 is a mafioso and not just some dumbass reading a badly written script.

I love when in 2007 Kanye's album butchered 50's work. And putting Nas and GZA in a 50 thread is insulting to Nas and GZA, album is just another generic and overexpossed commercial hip hop work with a lot of cliches, really lame lyricism most of the time and the voice of 50 is annoying as hell. Dre's production here is good, even I recognize that, but that's not enough to make a good album
