The Discovery is the most overrated piece of feces ever.

Of course it is man. Just listen to the change from AHP to The Discovery. I don't blame anyone for becoming instant fans of the band after that.

Even though A Higher Place is my favorite, they really stepped up their game with the discovery.

This album is pretty groovy and fun. That being said, it still kind of sounds like these songs could have been on [id] or like they remade [id] in a way. They reuse scales a lot in their songs which could be the reason i've noticed such similarities. Also, the cliche intro like they did on [id] which i find to be ridiculous because they barely lead up to anything and sound like they are there to take up a minute. I like the band, but even if you didn't expect them to change, it would have been nice for them to change up their formula. Let's face it, this is a shorter [id].

id is pretty bad so

Sure, it would be a pleasant surprise to see them randomly evolve like a Pokémon, but considering the rate at which they have stayed consistent throughout their career, such an evolution is unrealistic.

I guess you could say it was pretty bad. It had some memorable riffs and grooves but, as a whole, it left something to be desired. That's actually something you could say about all of their albums though. Like I said, a lot of the reason they leave something to be desired is because it seems as if their guitar player is stuck on, like, 3 scales which pretty much means you are hearing the same stuff but with slightly different riffs. Plus, releasing an album that is shorter than 30 minutes is stupid. They might as well have called it an ep and bought their guitarist a scale/chord book for his birthday or some shit.

[id] had way less memorable tracks than this, and it also had terrible production.
