What I'm doing is no different then people constantly jizzing over how good they think this is idk

it's pretty different dude. most people don't frequent threads of albums they can't stand. it makes sense to see people "jizz over how good they think it is" when it's the fucking thread for the album. I just don't understand why you keep coming here if you dislike it so much. I'm not fussed over it do what you want, I would just not keep returning to a thread of an album I thought sucked (or was average)

The content of this album is pretty heavy to be honest.
A Broken Jar, A Poem, and King Park are my favorites so far. I like it better than "Somewhere Between..." so far.

i didn't see this as such a drastic departure, soundwise, so completely hating this when you like all

their other stuff just struck me as weird

They're coming here with Thrice and O' Brother in 26 days.

I like them, and I love O' Brother... But, I can't stand La Dispute's fans. Most of them are blogosphere hipsters that just annoy me. Granted, LD has cool fans. Unfortunately, hipster fans kinda steer me away from such a concert.
I dunno.
This is good though, I do like it better than "Somewhere...".
I'll probably end up giving it a 4

Great review but I do not agree with the bashing of their debut. That record kicked ass so hard!

"just got my vinyl pre-order today. stoked."

niiiiice. i wanted to order the record so bad, but it was just too expensive for me to justify when most of the records I buy are half that price. Even though it was a 2XLP, just not worth it imo

"Only 20 years old, they called him "Grandpa." He was older than the others."

That is the worst part of the entire album, right there. Actually the worst part of any La Dispute song ever. I crawl in my skin every time I hear that line. I hate those lyrics and the way he delivers it. Everything else about King Park is fantastic, in my opinion. But, that one line is just god-awful.

Yeah that Grandpa line made me cringe a little.
