Man did you even listen to the riffs dude how is it random junk

Like if you don’t like the album it’s fine but that criticism doesn’t make much sense. Also I love the guitar tone and the vox

Reminds me of how pathetic and derivative Vektor is.

It's called being influenced by another artist, how terribly pathetic of them. How dare they?

Id hardly call it influence when the band re-uses the same few riffs throughout their discography. Many taken directly from Voivod.

vektors stuff is further from the speed thrash (motorhead and Discharge) of early Voivod. But its hardly a deviation that saves them.

Whatever man, they don't even sound THAT alike, it's ridiculous to call them derivative. I get the comparisons but Vektor have their own sound. Listen to Vexovoid and see how much they sound like Vektor, now that's derivative to the point of being 'pathetic' (if you want to take it that far).

Not the stuff Ghandi listens to, it's all 100% original using unique instruments constructed by the artists themselves and composition that's indecipherable to 99.9% of us mere mortals.

Loool right...

does anyone here likes phobos? Its prob my fave. Of course I haven't checked this dudes massive discog, but I really dug that industrial vibe there. Not at all onto their more hardrcock direction. Good band all around though.

Sure they have their own sound that they haven't really developed since the debut. But you can form your own sound whilst simultaneous sounding a lot like another band. Their music isnt immersive for me like Voivod is because I hear blatant melodic refferences to other bands every 20 seconds. Something good to be said is that each song is packed full of riffs that are seemlessly connected (something rare in tech metal).

Deftone, yeah. I have a bad habbit of using derivative instead of just 'lacking personality '.

"Reminds me of how pathetic and derivative Vektor is"

Apart from the artwork and the dystopian lyrics, their music is very different. I wonder whether you even listen.

Voivod is a weird band to say they have a distinctive identity as well...as far as I m concerned they look to go along with whatever was on fashion at the time. Still think they are pretty good...I mean, check this one, then check outer limits, then Phobos and then the latest and they sure look like different bands with common guys on them.
