Waiting for the next SputNews to see if these two can actually make the general users' #1 and 2.

I listened to the first half of this and it was a 3.5. Not surprised that you all love it though!

No hard feeling Willie.
They're obviously very talented, and there's bits and pieces here and there that are great but (imo)
there isn't all that much good songwriting, the ambient bits are pretty forced and it just doesn't
sound cohesive enough as an album.
Call me conceited but I think this will be the fad for a month or two and then everyone will forget
about them.

ive only listened to this twice, this is definitely an amazing piece of work but its difficult to listen to all the way through, its a lot to take in.

It's just interesting to watch the debate unfold; far more people dislike the ambient parts than I thought, as well as the length.

Call me conceited but I think this will be the fad for a month or two and then everyone will forget about them. I don't think the ambient parts sound forced (just too long, sometimes). I agree that the album isn't entirely cohesive, but I think that for an album like this that it's kind of the point.
It's sputnik and this could very well end up being a month/2-month fad before they move on to the next flavor of the week. That's not conceit, that's being real. It's just interesting to watch the debate unfold; far more people dislike the ambient parts than I thought, as well as the length. I think more people would like the ambient parts if the album was tracked better or if they had cut the times on a few of them.

I can see that, if I really looked I would concede that there are parts that drag on a bit. To me though it makes the experience all the better, and the only track I can really complain about is "Glances Part I."

Yeah, "Glances Part I" is totally unnecessary after the 8-minute ambient song that is in front of it. If nothing else, they might have considered adding it to the 8-minute ambient song so that there is only the one track between two actual 'songs'.

That might work, it just seems sub-par in comparison to other tracks.

3rd listen atm doesnt feel as long, this is definitely something special for a debut, its not without flaws tho.

That's about the only gripe I've had with this album so far, is the 12 minutes (in total) of ambience, and it's not exactly the most exciting music on earth, so......
on the other hand, the piano between 'Empire' and 'A new aurora' is so fucking sexy, and that instrumental..oh my goddddd

Yeah, the unnecessary and long instrumental parts are where this album weakens, but the amazing parts make up for them.

convinced. getting.

Usually this is not my type of bands, but man this is incredible!
A New Aurora is going to be in my top 10 of the year for sure, the cleans are really wonderful in this song. This is what brutal music is, not the breakdown-filled deathcore bullshit.
Dane Joe is just a big amount of noise...
