I'm all for the hype as I love this band to death, I just don't think it's next level or anything.

live version definitely sounds better than the studio version imo... actually gonna bump down the EP because of that

It's only the bass that super bugs me. It's kinda lacking and it takes away from that grit and heaviness from the live version on top of it being a cleaner studio version ofc

I just don't understand why they released Termination as the lead single when it's BY FAR the weakest song here lol. Poor decision from the band there. I'd really like it if they did a full length as heavy as the Zombie and ZII EP's though... but I feel like that'll never happen.

Calling it now the new one is gonna settle at a 4.1 for a bit, then the anti hype party poopers are gonna drop it to a 3.8

thinkin a strong 3.5/light 4 for the ep, w nora as my favorite. def not as strong as their 2009-2013 stretch which is what i consider their peak (specifically this/dead throne) but as someone whos kinda lukewarm on transit blues, zii is the most ive been engaged by their new material in a bit so im pretty impressed w it off of that

wish mike used his lows more on it bc whenever they pop up they sound really strong

I remember when I totally legitimately acquired Plagues back in the day and thought I'd been hacked or something with those song titles

I have pretty prominent tattoos of lyrics from "You Cant Spell Crap Without C" and it is always hilarious trying to explain to people who want to know what they are from.

It should drop down below this average that's for certain and deserved

3.8 is a respectable score for any album though, especially one from a metalcore band

Most metalcore albums, even those that are widely considered classics of the genre don't even reach 4

[3] Case and point, Augment. If elitist nerds didn't get their panties in a twist over clean vocals, I feel like a lot of albums similar to that would break a 4.

You can look at the 3.1 Plagues has and throw that out the window. Can't tell me Plagues wasn't a metalcore classic.
