great album. was mutuals with the then-19-year-old who later accused him of bad stuff having happened in 2014. she was posting about it at the time on tumblr (she didnt have many followers). URL was one of his albums. s2g! I sort of blocked it out and kept listening to him until it resurfaced but I am beyond 100% confident that at the very least this guy was 49 or whatever fuckin with a 19 year old girl who was posting about his music constantly and a fan beyond fans. this is my truth. weird

Do you still listen to this album (or any of his music, for that matter)?

i find it hard to listen to anything from skm

rhp is easier, he wasn't as quite as fucked back then from what I've heard (though still a dick)

such a shame, one of the great talents of his era but a complete fuckstick of a human. he's basically jonny craig

I feel like anything before the 2010s stuff should be fine for most people (or men at least, FWIW), obviously he was a creep before that but the lyrics weren’t as explicitly autobiographical and were universal enough in appeal/emotion to not feel overly tainted. But obviously I understand why people (and women/non-males especially) would feel uncomfortable listening to anything by him at this point. For me it’s pretty much all fine and that’s as someone who got into him only a couple years ago. I probably won’t ever bother with anything new he releases though.

i haven't listened to mark's music in a while which is a shame because RHP is easily a top 3 band for me and i liked a few SKM albums a ton. those accusations just turned me off his music and i've always had issues with some of the lyrics like in the RHP song Cruiser where he sings "you're my erotic brown eyed toy, you're my exotic black haired toy" about some unnamed Japanese girl

should I see a psychiatrist cause these allegations have done nothing to deter me from listening to his music, its almost like you can just listen to music and not input your superiority

Well that’s maybe the most ironic thing I’ve read today, thanks for that.

Honestly, Duk Koo Kim is probably the best Sun Kil Moon song from the pre-Audiobook-Core era Koz. For such a long song, there's zero fat on the bone here. I want that song to go on for weeks.

The mandolin in Duk Koo Kim is simply impeccable.
