OK Do you even like decent metal? at all? or are you just a scene-kid looking for another band that is immediately accessible and sounds ’cool and heavy’ like everyone else? If you had any taste then you would see what a brilliant metal album Ascendancy is and what a strong and exciting band Trivium are, unlike most flash in the pan bands who claim to be ‘metal’, then release a generic single and an album full of filler. And what are you talking about Heafy not having a good voice? its perfect for the music and delivered so powerfully. When he’s singing the melodic parts of their songs its just as good. If you don’t like screaming then please don’t waste everyones’ time using it as a scapegoat for why you cant hear the greatness of this record. I guess by now your listing to Panic! at the disco. And even worse your enjoying every whiny second of it.

It's funny how you are accusing Shadowsfallen for being a scene kid for not liking Trivium. These guys are crappy metalcore. It's not that we don't like screaming, it's that this guy sucks epically at screaming. You don't know what you're talking about at all.

Ok Braindead I respect your opinion. I for one wouldnt call them crappy metalcore atall, though they would be cursed with that like most bands on RoadRunner. Its just the way people are criticising them for not screaming 'properly'. if all bands sounded and screamed the same way it would suck. Either way Down with the system! (meaning system are one band no-one can argue with)

Amen to the System thing. I came off a bit rude, and I apologize. I thought that you were just another crazed fanboy, and I can see that I was wrong. I haven't really heard all that much Trivium, just Pull Harder, so I'm not in a very good position to judge.

Dude, Matt does/did not scream properly in that he didnt have a good technique, which means hes lost his ability to scream for the most part now and The Crusade is probably gonna be all clean vox. Which kinda sucks because Id rather hed developed his screaming voice properly so he could sustain it and continued with it. I dont have a problem with clean vox, but Matt's arent amazing or unique.

Gee thx for that lol... they arent repetitive...SF do u play the guitar cuz if u do...its not repetitive...theres heaps of parts for almost every song!! and i dont agree that matt heafys a bad screamer! Hes awesum..well...unique and hes one of the best "sing" singers in metal that i kno.

Anyone know anything about a new album coming? I really think these guys have tons of potential, but they just didn't get it right on this album. I have high hopes for the next one though.

Yeah. Matt isn't screaming because they way he did totally blew out his vocal cords. Since he didn't learn the right way to scream he just can't do it anymore and so the next album (coming out in the fall) is clean vocals from Matt. If you want further detail you can find it somewhere in the long thread.

They played a new song at one of the shows and you can listen to it somewhere but i dont remember the website. The new album is going to be named The Crusade and the new song is Detonation.
