Lack of Spotify doesn't usually stop me from listening to something but I have meant to check these guys forever so guess I’ll get on em now.
Does one go for this or the debut first?

Probably this tbh. Debut is a lot more experimental.

Haha, I can take some experimental stuff but if this is an easier lead-in it's probably where I'll start. Wouldn't want to hurt my soft little country-loving ears. ;-P

This is definitely more accessible but don't skip out on the debut. It's amazing for different reasons.

S.P.Q.R. + Swahili = swag. Overall I prefer the debut.

i remember listening to this about three in the morning a few years back. I had it on a youtube autoplay thing and forgot to turn it off before i nodded off. ended up waking up to henry cow the following morning. it was amazing
The art for this thing is really really fitting. Considered at first glance it seems to be something fairly recognisable and digestible, but the more in detail you look the more you wonder 'how the fuck did this thing ever come to form'

Yeah this is really intense, creative stuff. Looking forward to digging deeper. On first spin I obviously like the rock stuff more than the more experimental/avant-garde stuff but I’m open to that stuff growing on me more. Some of this reminded me of a few songs from Fear and Whiskey by The Mekons.

I was gonna persuade you to check the s/t, but maybe not if you prefer the ‘rock stuff’ (as this might be the better bet) - the Peel sessions are incredible as well.

I’m gonna check the s/t in due course, I was advised to start here. Are the Peel sessions different material than on the albums?
