I'm still confused as to why everyone views Tim Duncan as a PF. I mean, I know why San Antonio listed him as a PF (too hard to compete with Shaq and Yao for All-Star votes at center), but he doesn't play that position.
He's always the one guarding the opposing team's center, and he rarely plays on the baseline like a PF. Early 2000s KG is probably the best comparison for what he does on offense, but even though his position says PF, if you watch the game you can tell Duncan plays center. ESPN and all the talking heads love to proclaim the latest star to be the best ever at something, and it's just much easier to make the case that Duncan's the best PF of all time than it is to consider him even a top 3 center. The only time he ever played PF was his first season with the Spurs when The Admiral was still great. During Robinson's last season he was basically a reserve.

oh, and for my NBA all-time teams (during my NBA watching years at least):
First Team:
C: Shaq
PF: Kevin Garnett (hate him, but he was the shit)
SF: Larry Legend
SG: MJ
PG: Magic
Second team:
C: Dream
PF: Round Mound of Rebound
SF: Pippen
SG: Kobe
PG: Isiah
Third team:
C: Duncan (hate to leave off Robinson, as he was one of my favs growing up...)
PF: Mailman
SF: Grant Hill (before the injury he was sure-fire HoF, sorry 'Bron)
SG: D-Wade
PG: Stockton

Inveigh, I would say Duncan is a F/C. Come one man, you are totally glossing over the greatness of Spurs centers like Nazir Mohammed and Rasho Nesterivich ;)

What about Dasagna(however the fuck you spell it) Diop?

What movie is that?
|
| |
alright, I can go with Duncan being the epitome of a F/C -- works for me. if that's the case he takes Chuck's place on my second team, Chuck replaces Mailman and The Admiral takes the third team C spot.
our teams are almost identical if I do that though Hans haha
