I think this album is great, and the guitar parts are really well written.

However, I would never give this a classic 5 rating. It just simply isn't THAT good.

I did think at times it was a little cheesy, and at times their sweeping can be a bit distasteful.

Oh dear, I'll probably get 'negged'.

And I also don't think the title track is even one of the best 3.

You can only get negged if you write a review dude.

The title track is hit and miss with a lot of people.

BattleOfSerenity is right, I look back at this record now and see it has more flaws then I originally thought.

I don't think Colors is that cheesy. Very few parts of this album come across as cheesy to me either.

If this is cheesy, just listen to Colors.

I'd stick with Alaska, it's their best effort.

Colors and Alaska are more different than I originally though. I like Alaska a little more than Colors, although I think that Colors has more epic great moments than Alaska has. Also the weak parts in Colors are weaker than the weak parts in Alaska.

^^^I agree with everything you said but the epic thing, sure Colors has alot of epic MOMENTS but Alaska has epic tracks mainly Selkies.

Also almost all of Colors short tracks sucked but here you see them at their strongest, along with the longer ones.

Yeah, I prefer this to Colors. I might lower my rating for Colors to a 4 now actually.

I'll take Colors over this easily, though All Bodies is still the band's best song ever I'd say.

The band have quite a few awesome songs. My faves are Arsonist, Alaska, Selkies, Mordecai and Sun of Nothing.

Selkies owns so fucking hard. Some of the most beautiful material ever written in that song.

^^^123456789. Selkies is one of my fav songs EVER.

And High and diving i see were your coming from, still i don't know if agree on the more epic song think though. Selkies, Mordecai, The Primer they are all amazing epic songs, but White Walls, Ants of the Sky, Sun of Nothing are also in the same league epicness speaking. Colors has less songs so it had a disadvantage in numbers, I'm kind of neutral in this debate they are both epic in their own way.

You ppl who chose this over Alaska are crazy.

@cesar White Walls, Ants of the Sky, Sun of Nothing are good tracks but none of them really compete with Selkies, sure they have great moments, but Selkies is epic from start to finish.

Also it has a better length of 7 minutes while the new tunes drag on too much for my likely.

This album is an almost perfect combonation of shorter songs like "All bodies" to their longer more progressive "Selkies".

It's not that big of a deal but I just like my songs to range from 3-8 mins rather then 2-12 mins. This Message Edited On 01.23.08This Message Edited On 01.23.08
