I appreciate what they tried on the album. And I still remember hearing Beautiful and Strange on the
radio before this album came out. The band was talking about all the things they were doing, and how
they were trying blast beats for the first time on that song.
I must say I was really surprised that Mudvayne got that heavy. Dull Boy is probably the only thing
close since Fall Into Sleep.
I was also really impressed with the heavy verse of Closer. Though, the chorus is lackluster in my
opinion.

Maybe listening to this right after finishing L.D. 50 was a bad idea because it's left me utterly disappointted. This CD would be a perfectly acceptable for 90% of radio rock/nu-metal bands, but Mudvayne should be capable of so much more. Ryan's bass playing—the band's greatest strength—is often lost deep in the mix; Chad's nasally vocals lack the convincing rage of his earliest work; and neither Matt nor Greg contribute anything even remotely impressive here.
While this may not be Mudvayne's worst CD, nobody should be proud of them for having produced something so perfectly average and phoned in.

This is just barely better than New Game for me. New Game's opener is actually sweet too. Better than anything here I think.

Oh I'm not arguing in favor of New Game. I just think this is down there with it.

I think this is up there with LD and End of all Things because some of the tracks are very close to that sound again. Not perfect, but it definitely had it's moments. And the best thing since the End imo too.

A totally random comment, but this is one of the best reviews I've read.
