I feel weird saying this because my taste is often accused consisting of "tryhard artists" but this album came off as tryhard honestly
Like it didn't really convince me that Avey was actually a weird person, but instead a normal as fuck guy trying to emulate weird people... at least in the vocals

from this album onward, they pretty much streamlined their sound before getting their shit together with Centipede
Deakin opted out of MPP and Painting With to make an album that is possibly better than anything they've done Post-Sung Tongs
