nearly done my 3rd listen to Y&G. i feel confident in saying that it's now my new favorite Baroness.

they really proved w/ Y&G that they don't need metal anymore. this shit is unraveling itself with each listen. like, i'm just now picking up on the country undertones on Green and it's like 'woah holy shit their first 2 albums weren't nearly as rewarding as this'.

i may end up bumping this down to a 4, actually. Y&G just raised the bar for what i expected from Baroness.

it is.

i find Y&G much more captivating than any of their others by a large margin. so much variety on that thing.

granted, quality-wise, i still really dig the other 2, but.... goddamn, Green especially is just so fucking INTERESTING.

i love how you have yet to give me an actual reason why Y&G sucks that doesn't end up tracing back to "BAWW RED IS BETTER".

i always find it funny when a metal band decides to expand their sonic palette and metal fans cry out "OMG TOOO POPP TOOO AXCEESIBEL", especially when you take into account the fact that the majority of these people don't actually LISTEN to any pop music. I mean, only judging an album only within the context of the band's genre, or even worse, only within the context of their discography, is the absolute most ignorant thing you could do as a listener.

Probably my favorite song on here, with jake leg and horse being second. Never saw why people like swollen and halo so much other than the intro.
