aight so this is a borderline classic and all but is the mixing really off to anyone else too? maybe im just listening to a shitty stream of it but the drums sound really bad
ok nvm listened to this on a different rip and its way way better sounding (still a little tinny but not nearly as much of everything fucking bleeding into each other)

How ridiculous is I Love A Magician? That bass. Damn. Yeah this is really fun & interesting. Good choice for my first attempt at throwing a dart at Zombie’s list.

Thanks for doing that list, this one was on a list of mine ‘to check’ actually but it gave me the push I needed & there must be plenty of gems in those recs.

Yeah man, I've been meaning to dig heavily into post hardcore stuff cause it's always been a favorite overarching genre that I enjoy

I definitely like the wilder side of this album, a couple of the slower & more conventional/restrained cuts leave me a little underwhelmed.

I think the slower songs add some good balance to this album. not a boring moment on here imo.

agreed osmark the slower songs are actually some of my favorites on here You Are Invited, Spider in the Snow, Jitters and ESPECIALLY The City are killer... in fact talking about it now I think I just gotta slap that 5 on this

Are You invited is currently a bit of a dud, although admittedly I've only listened to this twice so far.

I think the dynamic of that track is what makes it so special and thats easy to miss if you don't delve into the metaphor being discussed. If you read into the lyrics its a representation of social anxiety and feeling that you don't belong. The message is pretty powerful and the dynamic of the instrumentation is meant to mimic the emotions of each moment in the telling of his emotions throughout the song. It starts with him getting an invitation shrugging it off as a dumb joke and continually looking for something to go wrong. However, by the end of the song he realizes in seeing his neighbor crying over not being invited to that same party that he needs to get out of his own head stop assuming everything is out to get him. I relate to the song hardcore so I find a ton of enjoyment in it personally.
