Whatcha talking about Restitution? My statement is based on #1: the fact that i've read a ton of reviews on this site, and have a knowledge of the general consensus as to what makes a good review, and #2: the fact that this review has gotten 30 negs. nothing presumptive about that.

Suck my balls.

ok. officially not taking anything you say seriously ever again. lol

now everyone be happy! no more fighting!

People don't rate reviews based on their quality, they rate them based on whether they agree. Anyone who says otherwise is like the 200,000 other tools on this site who suck the dick of the Sputnik favorites and don't want to be ostracized.

Now, was it well written? Well, that depends. Are you honestly rating it without bias, or the fact that you completely disagree? I've seen much worse reviews with a thousand less negs. Hell, even first reviews with grammar mistakes everywhere and without punctuation get lighter reception than this.

People just don't want to admit to being butthurt about negative reviews, so they lie, because that's what people do.

I find the reviewer prejudice against the band, that's why I don't like the review. I believe he let's too much of his opinion of the band get in the way of objectively reviewing it. I have nothing wrong if someone honestly thinks this is a 2, but it just seems he doesn't like the fact it's been widely accepted very positively and he himslef originally posted that this review was to, as I paraphrase, to balance out the rating.

ANYWAY..... i'd like to see where August Burns Red goes for next. They obviously want to move away from the normal trappings of Metalcore, i'd assume they'd continue in the same direction.

So they're gonna make more false-progressions? And maintain their position as one of the dullest christ-core bands on the planet? Gee can't wait. Maybe they'll do an acoustic track next, that'd be super-progressive of them.

This band has to be one of the most blatantly generic bands out there, can't people hear that this is just crappy metalcore to the extreme?

Actually really quickly taylor; what are your thoughts on Messengers?

Restitution: haha -- look who's making the presumptive statement now.

this gets a big reception because it's a popular band. that is obvious. doesn't mean all the negs are from "butthurt liars." i've observed scores of instances where users here specifically say they disagree with a certain review, but don't neg because of the writing quality.

and as for me, i negged because the review did a horrible job of backing up it's rating. that's it.

It's vocal production is better. Other than that it goes a jun-jun-jun-jun-jun and bores me even more than this does.

Taylor: what exactly makes the progression on the album "false?" since you did an awful job of explaining that in the review, i'll give you another chance to explain yourself here.

I thought I did it pretty well but whatever, 1.) Meridian has terrible placement on the album, it would've been suited as the first track, also it has horrible flow and is dull as a stone.

2.)any attempt at stepping outside their breakdown-riff-breakdown formula is incredibly forced. You can tell that they got to a point in a song and decided to glue an extra part onto it i.e. Indonesia that clean bridge might be something new for them unfortunately it's been done about a

million times in the past decade.

Does that help you? This band are generic they try to hide that by chucking on bits of songs that other bands have already tried and they fail at it.

Thought that might've been the case haha. I prefer it personally.

Well actually, Truth of a Liar is better than anything else they've done. But I'm pretty sure I heard Messengers like 7 years before it was released about 8 times by different bands. So it's kinda lame.

I think this move away from metalcore that they tried on Constellations seemed forced. Some good music came out of it, but I think they missed a few things. With Messengers they sounded like they were playing with a lot of passion. They didn't add anything new to the genre, but I thought it was still an extremely good effort.

I understand where your coming from Palace on their false progression but what hasn't been done already? I guess it's almost impossible for any band to progress then in those terms.

Not really, example; Underoath. They made a near perfect album with DTGL but they still managed to make an excellent follow up. They took elements from DTGL and expanded on some of them taking them a little bit further. It wasn't super-original either but it worked because it seemed natural as opposed to this album which has almost no flow between sections.
