It’s one of those things that conjures up an image in me mind of walking into a mates garage and they make mention of playing guitar. Plug in and obliterate.
Credit to the yanks as well when it comes to this sort of stuff. They always have and always will piss over everything when it comes to real deal amplified alt rock with stones.

I like to say there's no good american rock bands from before '76 and no good british rock bands from after '96 lol

Not gonna split hairs because it's ultimately a matter of opinion and not really related to the thread at hand, but rest assured that my aforementioned take has accounted for all the big names- all some combination of "not good", "not rock", and "not a band".
Also, so glad to hear you're liking this Atari! It's a stunner for sure, it's only grown on me over time too.

J Mascis on autopilot is still pretty good at times.

Mascis rules here but I really dig the change of pace Lou Barlow's songs provide. his vocals have such a strong '60s folk vibe.. love it

Surprised by how much I’m enjoying this. Sounds bloody massive.
Okay it tails off a lil’ maybe, still good mind.

It tails off a lot. Could have been a good ep if the second half was cut. First 5 songs perhaps.

The best stuff was admittedly early on (mostly), although I need to check again.
