It's a mouthful, but I'm guessing this is their defining release? Haven't checked anything else yet.

I'd say that Tired Sounds is the culmination of all of their previous records, basically perfecting the pure ambient drone sound, whereas this takes a step towards something more cinematic. They're basically about as good as each other tbh

Man, every time I hear those opening notes of The Mouthchew, everything seems else seems to melt away and there's a warm feeling in my stomach like a sip of hot coco and everything feels like it's gonna be okay.

After 5 years of Endtroducing.... being my fave AOAT, this (Refinement) has taken that position. This is a monument of an album and an incomparable work of art.

'If GY!BE's took LYSF and removed every climactic moment completely and just concentrated on meandering build-ups resulting in sleep inducting monotony ad nauseam - the album.'

'No buildups to be found here...'
Admittedly it was an ill-fitting comparison, I just like to bash GY!BE for some unknown reason, even if I actually enjoy the majority of their work. OK then, in simplistic terms this is long, boring and nothing really happens.

To use myself as a comparison, someone once called one of my songs "samey", which implied that he thought the repetitious guitar line wasn't a good thing. So I was like "well, I guess it depends on if you like repetition or not".
So with this, am I in the mood for just that, long ambient with minimal movement. When I am, this is just about perfect. Other times I want more movement, so I'll listen to AWVFTS or Dustin's solo stuff.
