Angmar would put the false pretender Hawks back in his place.

Like I said, one of the best tech-death albums I've heard and I've only listened to it twice so far.

Centric Flow from 4:37 until the end is better than any riff you'll probably ever write.

Blatant Necrophagist and Cynic worship with a little added melody and a supposed level of progression leaves Cosmogenesis as not only a mess of an album, but puts Obscura in a very unstable position, one in which they try their very best to imitate all their influences and come off as nothing but a poor clone of numerous bands. The fact that they aren't anywhere near as technical as the bands they try to replicate throws them onto thin ice, and the thieving bastards shouldn't think that they can get away with stealing Cynic's robotic vocals without anybody noticing. On top of that, the gutturals are nothing short of irritating. Funnily enough, the single track worth listening to is the instrumental, Orbital Elements, if only for its sufficiency in imitation and its lack of vocals.

They do tend to sound a bit much like Cynic, robot vocals and all. But other than that, I don't see their style of technicality bearing that much in common with Necrophagist and their harsh vocals I have no problems with whatsoever. This Message Edited On 04.13.09

Most publications seem to dig the shit out of this album. I'm not concerned with sputnik being the odd man out but I do enjoy this album.

They hardly sound like Cynic, and Cynic wasn't the first band to use robotic vocals.

As for the gutturals, there's no difference between them and a million other death vocals so there's no reason why these should be singled out.

This is really good, Balls. I also just found out that this band features Pestilence's old bass player.

The only thing this band has in common with Cynic is the robot vocals and they don't even use that all that much. Album fucking rules.

I can't wait to see them Sat. I like this album a lot, but the vocals are too bland and could be better.

Many peole bag the vocals, but personally I loved them since I first heard them. Guitar wise, I hear alot of Death influence. And yah, I actually started off the review straight up with Pestilence.
