So Ive heard a couple bootlegs from the last couple of days and if anyone is seeing them on their upcoming gigs are unbelievably lucky. Theyre also playing a new song that i personally find amazing. Try and check it out.

i keep hearing about how "pop" this album is, and after giving it a few listens, i wonder...where is the pop?

don't confuse catchiness with pop

theres nothing even close to justin timberlake or MJ on this album (pop artists)

hey you know that genres evolve over time? This would be one of those cases.

Oh and I don't think anyone is saying this is strictly a pop-album but rather a culmination of a few genres working together

Okay this is pretty poppy, but this is not the evolved form of pop.

Well its relevant to his argument, despite the fact that it resembles Swiss Cheese.

Heard a few songs off of this. While this band seems to be largely love or hate I find myself somewhere in the middle. I can tolerate them, but I wouldn't listen to them by choice. Quite possibly the most overhyped album of the year, and the year has only just started.

Hype is to be expected, Animal Collective are insanely popular in the indie spectrum.

comparing this to artists that anybody with ears can consider "pop" is quite relevant to my argument that this is being called pop for no reason...

i would agree with this being indie...that being said, it doesn't change the fact that people are giving this album way more then it is...and we have multiple reviews calling it classic, and people calling it classic, and it has been out for...2 weeks?

i will like to see how opinions of this album change over the next 12 months...

Classic albums don't necessarily need to 'stand the test of time' as people frequently put it. When you listen to music that enlivens your thought process, soothes your eardrums, and inspires other bodily functions which are good, it can be considered a 'classic' in the sense of an 'instant classic'.
