^That makes MY point. Someone MAKING FUN OF terrible metal vocals probably isn't going to sound very metal. They're going to sound like someone singing badly. Cool, now we can move on from my passing, inconsequential comment.

I guess he wasn't really getting at that, but if Arif wants to write lyrics like he does then that's fine. No opinion is right, but really the lyrics aren't as absurd as you say they are. This is a fun record that shouldn't be taken as some serious look on the world or history due to the fact that Arif wrote them about what he wants, and no one can really interpret what isn't interpretable and what's just in plain view. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

dude i'm just saying that rody doesn't try to sound metal, make fun of metal, or anything of that nature. he just sings. so your comment about his vocals sounding like a parody of terrible metal vocals makes no sense.

Lol, no opinion is right but here is why my opinion is right and yours is wrong.
IAmInsect- I'm almost at a loss for words at this point tbh. It was a simple comparison, an analogy. It sounds LIKE some random guy trying to make fun of bad metal. Of course that isn't ACTUALLY what it is. That's like saying "You say that Geddy Lee sounds like a woman who just sucked down a bunch of helium when he sings, but it makes no sense because Lee is neither a woman nor does he inhale helium before singing." It's just a lame argument. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

^Then say that.
My response: I think it does. That's my opinion. We disagree. But yeah now that you finally realize you're wrong it doesn't matter so w/e but it never mattered in the first place. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

Yes because all that matters is what the majority thinks.
/another common logical flaw on the part of IAmIncest.

way to miss the point completely. if you're one of the few people that thinks that, and i think you're going to be alone as far as sputnik goes, than that probably means you're wrong. not because it's majority opinion but because you're wrong. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

I didn't miss the point at all. Like I said, that's a logical fallacy. Go look it up or trip over a rock or something. This Message Edited On 07.16.08

exactly. ilikemusic, all i'm saying is i don't think rody is trying to sound metal, and you do. i shouldn't have been all "i'm right you're wrong" cause that's pretty douche-like. can we agree to disagree?

Alright, last post to IAmIncest because I actually want to help the world a little bit. What you just did is called appeal to popularity or appeal to majority. It's a logical fallacy that says that since everybody/ most people/ a ton of people think something, that they are/probably are right. This just isn't true. Most common example: a ton of people smoke, and for many years, a majority did in the U.S. Someone could argue, then, that smoking is fine. But of course we know through science (and imo, frankly, common sense) that regularly ingesting smoke isn't a good idea at all.
There you go. Now think about it.
edit: can we agree to disagree?
Yes. lol.
Even though again, my point didn't have to do with whether he sounded metal or wanted to sound metal or whatever. Just that he sounded as bad as somebody making fun of metal singers. This Message Edited On 07.16.08
