Deliverance and Damnation are both better than this, but hey, it surely beats out Ghost Reveries.

Is it like Deliverance and Damnation?

I'd say it's more like Damnation than Deliverance on the overall sound and yet it is quite different. Seems like they have switched around the 'heavy build-ups to clean/acoustic part'-formula on this.

Burden still gives me goosebumps, its so well written. I'm starting to mind the end of it less too. The mellotron solo is epic. This Message Edited On 06.09.08

I don't mind the end of Burden...i find it to actually be interesting and a lil break from the seriousness that most Prog Metal bands have. I think the hate of it is a little to extreme.

The out-of-tune guitar part is fine; it's creepy and somewhat humorous. Instead we should focus our negativity on Hex Omega for being really average.

123...and Porcelain Heart as well...my dislike for Coil is more likely resultant of my inability to like any female vocals pretty much ever...Hessian Peel shoulda been the album closer imo...it is sooo good...

All the tracks are brilliant, except maybe Hex Omega.

So if all of them are brilliant except for one then it's not perfect.

Then it's not a 5.

Though I like the album so far.

I love how so many of you have already rated this a 5, as if longevity has nothing to do with ratings.

Your right, but I find this album so damn good. 50 + listens already. We will see how I feel in a month or two.

True, Hex Omega is a little underwhelming. I love that opening riff so much, but it really is a letdown after that. I still think Porcelain Heart is the weakest track, however.

Other than those two tracks though, this is nearly flawless.
