I got a copy of Geogaddi on vinyl, the cover of which had been chewed through by a dog... but the music's so goddamn good it doesn't bother me at all. Plus the dog probably got high as shit, so that's good.

IDM is such a mysterious genre to me, the music doesn't quite "click" with me but it keeps me coming back again and again..

This album and Aphex Twin's debut rule.

(sigh) -- in the end they're just totally different bands. boards of canada is fantastic music but aphex twin has stretched my imagination beyond what i thought was possible too many times when i've listen to him. then again, richard d james is also batshit insane so i can see why he wouldn't appeal to everyone

that's stretching it

AT's material is more impressive while most of BoC is usually more enjoyable depending on the day

I'm siding with Poly

AT is still badass but there's a world inside BoC that seems to satiate every visit my mind wants to lend

All that needs to be said. AT's stuff is really damn good but it doesn't really soak me in (not

necessarily a bad thing). Although I'd argue that Selected Ambient Works Vol. II and a tiny bit of his

debut do suck me in but the rest of his material is just straight up, enjoyable IDM.
