Seeing this is the pinnacle of Watchtower, I wouldn't get your hopes up too high

Alex, you should be rating this a 4 at least, goddamnit.
|
| |
I wanted to, but the vocals, even if they're good, are just not great. If they were better this would be an easy 4.0.

If Pod Vladou Bice, Hold Your Horse Is, obZen and Jane Doe are 4-worthy, so is this.
|
| |
I mean, maybe, I'm still kind of considering a 4.0 (and since you mention it sometimes I think about lowering Jane Doe's score), but again, even if the vocals are not bad at all, they're not great at all. And being honest I don't think I'm going to change my rating.

lol, how the hell is Obzen a 4

Bump of the day. Easily one of the best thrash metal records of the 80's.

"lol, how the hell is Obzen a 4"
You're right, it's a 4.5

"The Fall of Reason" is so good. Better than anything on Think This.
|
| |
This progs harder, but Think This thrashes harder. A bit more meat on the riffs.

Album Rating: 4.5
Think This does thrash harder, but it's...missing something. The cold, mechanical feel is more at home with Anacrusis than Toxik imo. It's a great album, but World Circus is far better.
|
| |
I'd rate them both equally myself

this and World Circus > Think This > Energetic Disassembly
Scratch that, Energetic Disassembly is also better.
|
| |
Those watery clean guitar licks in "Life Cycles" for instance are so good. It's a small detail, but it's almost post-metal-like before post-metal became a thing.

"Scratch that, Energetic Disassembly is also better."
Better than Think This? That's a stretch lol

I just don't love it like everyone else. It's missing whatever makes World Circus such a delight. "Charm" probably isn't the right word, but it's missing that as well.

Think This >>>
|
| |
World Circus is unrestrained in its approach, I'll give it that
Think This has Sabin on vocals though; one of the greatest vocalists to feature on a tech-thrash record
