"Ice Cube's early solo albums are better than this honestly"

Said no one ever.

i'll agree with him that amerikkka's most wanted has better beat production, or at least i prefer it to most of the funk hybrid stuff on this one

I'd disagree since both serve completely different purposes. While the subject matter is serious here this is far lighter in tone than Ice Cube's early stuff so to put the beats from something like Amerikkka's Most Wanted here would just make it feel awkward and vice versa

Death Certificate stomps this. So do AMW and The Predator actually. Even his sellout Lethal Injection is better imo. I'm not saying this is bad tho

The opener on this thing is one of the greatest statements of intent ever. It's always made me want to flip tables over.

I gave this a spin over the Christmas holiday. There are some tracks that go hard and some pretty forgettable ones. I give it credit for what it did for the genre though.

Film is quality.

The sense of danger is captured and how exciting it all was. I'm going to get a jheri curl mullet.

How they handled the story was the weak point, but otherwise it was very well acted and directed.
