this has been a great year for black metal. Ne Obliviscaris, The Great Old Ones, Saor, and Lord Mantis are my top 4 of the year (though each is a very different style).

I'm not huge on Sun Worship. It's a little too clunky for me, and I find the vocals to be kinda eh for some reason. I think for me it's something like:

Nothing else blew me away like those three bm-wise, but there's a ton all vying for 4th place.

Will check Black Monolith. And yeah, it didn't really grab me even into the second half of the album. Thou, depending if you call it black metal, is up there too. Anaal Nathrakh, Paramnesia, Barrowlands, Allochiria, and Cormorant are also in my top 50 albums.

Anaal Nathrakh are pretty bad
