yeah it is
My favorite is the record store day picture disc single with Guns of Summer and Pearl of the Stars Big Beige demo. The artwork on both sides is jaw dropping.
My other favorite record is the demo album for The Afterman: Descension it sounds so awesomely raw. I prefer it over the final Afterman product.

I think the newer songs they've done on the past three albums are better as acoustic so best suited for some warm vinyl speakers. But the first three albums are God tier music

The new songs are mostly great but they do lose a bit of the 'edge' the first four had. They just seem softer and less grandiose

ya and that's why I would prefer to hear the newer stuff exclusively as acoustics because all the added flare hurts the core of the song. dunno why. That "flare" might not even hurt it as it just isn't as amazing as the old stuff.

I feel that way about the afterman albums more than I do about Island in the sun. I like the laid back style of that album compared to afterman.

Island in the sun lol. But yeah CBTS was definitely there sonically, but the songs themselves were sometimes weaker than previous material.
And yeah TMF that parts awesome, Mother may I not my favorite here by any means but that parts sweeet
