Treasure is better yeah
BBK is honestly pretty on the same level as HoLV though I guess HoLV is better by a tiny bit

Head Over Heels is probably their best album.

That Heaven or Las Vegas is where they went downhill, and BBK is better.

If you asked me to choose which was better, Treasure or Head Over Heels, I honestly wouldn't be able to answer.
|
| |
They are very close. I think Head Over Heels is more consistent, but their best songs are on Treasure.
|
| |
Most of Head Over Heels best bits were vastly improved on by everything they've done since imo. Probably the only point at which CT were beaten at their own game by DCD
|
| |
That makes sense if you prefer pop over punk. The albums after HoH trended further towards pop.
Beaten at what game? Dead Can Dance were different than Cocteau Twins, even early on.

Hmm I get a similar tone from HOH and Spleen - feel like tracks like Five Ten Fiftyfold and Tinderbox of a Heart have a lot in common with the likes of The Cardinal Sin and Advent. Agreed that the two are otherwise pretty distinct
|
| |
I presumed you would say their self titled album. There is some Cocteau Twins on spleen too.
|
| |
Self-titled and the Garden EP are on my checklist - weirdly the first DCD track I heard was technically from that EP
|
| |
Garden is really underrated.

Treasure is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I regret nothing.

why does Ghandhi get a pass for dishing out 4s
|
| |
Because a Ghandhi 4 is like a 5.5 from anyone else
