I change my mind every few days but right now I have the core songs ranked
Descending
7empest
Pneuma
Culling Voices
FI
Invincible
I like CCT but it doesn’t really count. They should have stuck with the physical version where that was the only interlude.

All the songs are kind of on the same level for me except CCT although it's still awesome.

I don't listen to this thing with any of the interludes. Indeed, I'm now pretty confident that the album is better without CCT and definitely without Mockingbeat. I need to give the other two interludes another chance though.

I agree that Tool intended the album to be listened to with the interludes. Presumably because they think the experience is better with them (although honestly, I still think their intent with Mockingbeat could be to piss us off). But artists can be mistaken about what improves the listening experience. And in this case, I think Tool are mistaken, and I won't be beholden to their mistake.

Some favs are mewithoutYou, The Dear Hunter, Thrice, Circa Survive. That's a lot of Sputcore I guess. I suppose I like a lot of bands that have post-hardcore roots which they have partially out-grown. But I also quite like prog metal (though I am ridiculously picky with it) and lots of synth-driven pop. How about you?

I like the interludes...I don't need Mockingbeat though...for what its worth the physical copy doesn't count with any of the interludes, except CCT.

I like Mockingbeat, but I'm biased towards birds. I like bird sounds. I also think it loops back around to the t/t nicely.

Mockingbeat is kind of unsettling when the distortion really kicks in
