That's actually true, though Most of the lyrics from white pony onwards are rather vague.
Minerva is an strange example of Chino singing to a Goddess rather than a mortal woman.

I dunno I think You've Seen the Butcher has pretty creepy lyrics, although the songs at that point are way more slick and less scratchy sounding, so the creepy vibe is mostly gone

Lyrics from this band are pretty meaningless for the most part anyway. Read an interview with Chino not so long back, and he said when he writes lyrics it's purposefully nonsensical and he forgets what he even wrote most of the time.

keeping their lyrics vague is what made them stand out though. their peers like Korn were very on the nose. Deftones were every bit as heavy but they were more tasteful about it by leaving a bit to the imagination.
