it's crazy to me how little of the new album they've been playing, even last year

If we're going to correlate the amount of songs played from an album with that album's quality, then by that logic, SNW is worse than this

Which is a notion I cannot agree with, and that's coming from a rather staunch defender of this album

True Dylan, I think SNW is neglected cos of where the band was at the time.

Same goes for the s/t.

i mean idk how much they played off snw when it came out but i think it's rather telling that they haven't been playing much off gore since its release. older albums you can excuse a little bit more.

WP and Diamond Eyes seem to be their 'go to' albums live nowadays.

They actually played more from ATF than DE (and maybe even WP) when I saw them last August

EDIT: yep just double-checked the setlist, ATF was the most-repped album that night

Over the years WP and Diamond Eyes have been regulars.

AtF is getting more attention nowadays cos of the anniversary thing this year.

Oh damn that's right, I forgot that ATF turn(s/ed) 20 this year

1997 was such an incredible year for music

i swear they played like half of ATF when i saw them on the KNY tour.

Wish they just wouldn't play much from that or adrenaline, hearing chino try to get his nu-metal flow on just doesn't sound that great live anymore

Thank God they didn't make a around the fur pt,2. But It's irritating how sexual the music and lyrics of deftones have become since white pony.

I want death, violence, screaming, suffering

JUST LIKE HEXAGRAM GOD DAMMIT.

Wow man completely disagree. The first time I saw them live (had never heard their music before at this point in time) they closed with Engine no9 and 7 Words and I was comepletely blown away, probably the two best performances I've ever seen, and it pursuaded me to drop like $80 dollars on their whole discog just cause. I mean yeah I love Koi and DE and WP but fuck man I'd love it if they performed only adrenaline and atf tracks, those were pretty much always the best performances at the three Deftones shows I've been to.

The weird creepy sexual shit is part of what made old albums like Adrenaline and Around The Fur better on some level... think about moments like 'it's too bad you're married to me'... back then, when Chino sang about a girl it was like 'I love you but I also kind of want to push you over a railing' whereas nowadays it's just a bland 'I love you, our sex is amazing' thing. It's become a bit more one-dimensional emotionally in that one aspect.

lol

anyway my comment about it being weird they played so little of Gore recently was pretty much specifically aimed at the fact that its the album they're touring on

And still Jonathan Davis having married and with kids he still has this hatred for the human society that he makes you wonder if he's using his music as a therapy.
