only listened to this bc its one of the highest rated albums on here and expected not to rly enjoy it because im not the biggest fan of post-rock but wow my expectations were exceeded. few more listens and i could definitely see myself bumping my rating up too.

Just gave this another spin, and wow, just fucking wow. Still nothing compares in the genre of Prog IMO

Close to the Edge though

But yeah, this is unbelievably awesome and one of a kind, as much as its successor wanted to emulate its style

Moonchild is gorgeous. Well, the first 2 minutes anyways. Such unsettling atmosphere.

CLOSE TO THE EDGE [3]

I forgot how good this is though. The t/t sounds like just a weaker version of Epitaph to me but everything else is amazing

Epitaph and t/t are the only two songs on here that sound alike and that's probably the reason why they're my two favorites. I just love that sound. The others are awesome as well though, except for Moonchild minus the first minutes.

Just feel like the title track is really repetitive and doesn't really go anywhere but Epitaph was one of my favorite things ever for a while

That said my favorite is still 21st Century Schizoid Man - I like KC the most when they're on those psychedelic-ish heavy pseudo jazz-funk freak outs
