Nah, i've never had that approach apart from a handful of albums. I've always enjoyed songs as they are and i rarely get an album that i enjoy every song on it

Also this is easily Opeth's most consistent album, and The Amen Corner is one of Opeth's best songs.

Jamie knows. Though I do think Still Life is about as consistent as this, even if it isn't quite as impressive overall.

@JT seriously? You're telling me you listen to this whole album whenever you want to hear anything from it? Granted, I listen to the first threee tracks altogether because they have a nice flow to it, but I don't mind listening to DoTF before switching to something completely different

Not every time (more often than not though) but you said you never listen to Watershed all the way through. I mean if I never feel like listening to a particular album all the way through I probably wouldn't give it any more than a 3 cos if that is the case then it's obviously not a very engaging/consistent album.

And yeah this is better than Still Life and BWP in every single way.

Watershed doesn't really engage me at all therefore it's a 3

More engaging than their next two or Deliverance/Damnation

Damnation > Watershed, but right about the rest.

Definitely more so than the last two but I love Damnation and the majority of Deliverance is much better for me

I might agree if the second half of Damnation lived up to the first half
