My only takeaways from "That's the Spirit" are Doomed and What You Need. Those were the only songs that, in my opinion, sounded somewhat unique from everything else. The rest of the album is bad Linkin Park.

I don't think this album is atrocious or anything. It has a charm about it that makes "That's the Spirit" enjoyable. The problem is Bring Me the Horizon showed little effort aside from mainstream appeal. It feels like b-sides from "Minutes to Midnight" era Linkin Park. Very bland and forgettable lyrics combined with predictable and safe music produced a hollow BMTH album.

Their new album doesn't sound like it'll be much of an improvement. Metalcore needed a break anyways. That genre needs to redefine itself going forward. BMTH is trying to find their place as a group. We'll see what happens next.
