Completely agree
All the complaints you have against this album are the reasons I love the bands earlier stuff and why Calculating Infinity is one of my favorite all time albums.
Also as much as I like this album I really just want the band to go back to their previous style and just rip my face off with some insane mathcore audio, but that's doubtful at this point.

I don't think their other stuff is brick walled, but just sticking here, I think that the production is just too overdone for the style. They're trying to make it sound like there are more things happening than there actually are. When you pick it apart, you realize that it's not all that technically impressive. That's just production though. That's not my only problem with this album.
