I never ever liked rap and still don't really but this was the first album of this genre that really caught my attention. The production is definitely Dre's trippiest and best work, but also never looses its flames with the incredible emotion and storytelling that Kendrick puts forward.

Well, if your a seasoned listener of the genre, you can laugh all you want but I happened to stumble

upon this album randomly so its no big deal that I liked it!

Back Seat Freestyle. The one track that keeps good kid m.A.A.d city from being the hip-hop masterpiece it should be. I mean this is bad, almost Lil Wayne bad. His voice is obnoxious as hell and the lyrics are downright embarrassing considering this is the same guy who wrote the amazing "Sing About Me / I'm Dying of Thirst". And please, don't give me the whole "Well, it's supposed to sound like this within the context of the album" bullshit. Writing a bad song for the sake of being bad does not excuse it from being, well....bad. /endrant

Back seat freestyle works perfectly within the context of the album.

Only 2 songs I'm not crazy about are "bitch don't kill my vibe" and "Compton". Real has a wack chorus, but the verses are good.

"He just told you to not give him the "in the context of the album" bullshit, and you went ahead and gave him the "in the context of the album" bullshit"

because it's bullshit to see songs not in the context of the album, since it's more or less a concept album.

its a lame concept album, the story has been told 1000 times and it doesn't make up for the bad songs.

its a cop-out for making immature songs that sell better

as in if I were on an island and had to pick between Black Boy Fly and the rest of this album i'd pick

Black Boy Fly
