This album is phenomenal, & i love some of the stuff I've heard off the s/t
but i was kinda disappointed the first time i heard some of their earlier stuff, seemed to have some obvious hangovers from their "hair metal" days or whatever and it just didn't grab me like the stuff Dirt-onwards

actually, i just listened to some tracks off Facelift and i don't think whatever I'd heard was from that
I'm not sure what i played i just remember it sounding notably more dated/cheesy or something & wondering if anything other than Dirt was gonna be good to me
fortunately that was the case, Jar of Flies is great
