I still love this. Death continues to deliver and with time, ITP has been the biggest benefactor
Trapped In A Corner is incredible. Dat bass. The variety. Harder than Symbolic, more sophisticated than Leprosy, but waaaaaay less superfluous than TSOP. Less obviously ‘hooky’ than Human.
Idk this might be their best

I feel like better production (both original and remaster) on this album could have elevated it to a whole other level. The production on Human is nearly perfect for me so it's weird coming to this album where it feels a lot muddier and hard to make out the individual instruments.

Lol I was so bothered by this I went out and found a different mix from an older 1999 release.

Sounds distinctly different from the OG and Relapse remaster. To my ear it sounds a lot more clear than the OG mix without removing all the things the Relapse remaster removed.

Yeah the prod on this one is noticeably rougher than the albums surrounding it, but otherwise it's about as good. Trapped in a Corner still probably the best Death solo, even the rhythm guitar riff in that section is incredible

Yea definitely agree on the solo. Probably in my top 10 list of favorite metal solos.
