The only things that will survive the fast approaching apocalypse will be cockroaches and Brand New’s reputation on Sputnik

shame jesse kinda the only person most people know about in this band because this band ain’t shit without garrett vinnie brian

as someone who never really listened to brand new for the lyrics, jesses the closest thing to. a disposable member. just find someone who can do lower twangy shit and like scream singing and you’re good

Anyone heard the band The Wet Puddles?

Absolutely amazing stuff, the lead singer is amazing and has really has been through the mill due to his inability to digest solid foods having just been weened of mushed up rusks. I think it’s amazing and can like so identify with his problems.

There’s a real visceral wail when he sings which is amazing and give hard feels which make me feel strange but amazing at the same time.

Drums are amazing, guitar is amazing especially the twangy one.

Anyone fancy catching them at the show in LA? I’m 11.

Yeah no one likes Jesse for his voice, he's not a very good singer honestly. It's the lyrics and writing that make Jesse make brand new

All around ridiculous comment. He rights the majority of the music and lyrics (3), and is (from what I have seen and heard) the highlight of this band for most people. Hell, he even chose to scrap the FOYD demos when some of the other band members didn't care at all that they had been leaked.

I'd argue that Jesse is a bigger part of the band than the rest of the members combined. He's the face of the thing.

I like his voice anyways, so i dont think hes disposable even in that way.

he might be the face of the band and isn't disposable for that reason, but the other band members are a lot more musically talented imo. idrk why they never seem to get much credit, most people (myself included tbh) couldn't even name em

Um, you do know Lacey is the primary songwriter, right?

for the barebones skeleton of the songs yea, but each member brings their own contribution to it that transforms it into something unique to all four of them

"closest thing to a disposable" obv I wouldn't want a brand new without him but if it happened it'd at least still be excellent

still debating whether I'll buy the vinyl. I have no problem still listening to it but paying for their work is a completely different story

I mean looking at the credits for TDAG it looks like Lacey wrote seven of the twelve songs exclusively by himself.
