It's awesome, but I prefer Baying of the Hounds

Yeah, top tier Opeth song. This album is such a ride. Not to fond of Atonement though

Atonement's fine, but yeah, definitely the weakest here imo. Isolation Years, on the other hand, might just be my favorite Opeth ballad (along with Lovelorn Crime)

Isolation Years is amazing, though I prefer Hours of Wealth, that song always gets me. And yeah Atonement is basically the main reason why this is isn’t a 5 for me, the rest is absurd

Beneath the Mire, more like Beneath is Fire?
I dunno, I'm trying to praise it

atonement has that weird vocal effect but otherwise it rocks wth

Masterpiece. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around this album's existence, along with BWP. They stand out to me as utterly unique, and uniquely masterful. Lightning in a bottle pieces of music.

Blockbusters can be classics though. See E.T. for instance. And GR.

The guitar tone on the solo in hours of wealth will always be the most fascinating tone to me. It is just perfect in every way and despite all the other incredible parts of this record that single solo is the highlight of the hour for me every time.

Won't argue with that. M///

Yeah true. Hours Of Wealth might just be their most gorgeous clean track ever.

Too bad atonement kind of sits in the "whatever" category for me most days
