because generally if you like something thats well received you're passionate about it and will listen to it on a regular basis and beyond that there's certain albums that are generally considered good that some people may not care about at all because it doesn't fit well with their taste, which makes sense because for something to be considered high quality it usually has a good amount of thought and diversity and depth to it in its own sense and as a result the spectrum for "well received" music is a lot larger. on the flip side, generally if you don't like something you'll listen to it half the way through and never think about it again, and beyond that (with a few exceptions) there's certain bands/albums that are generally considered terrible regardless of someones taste, which again makes sense because a lot of times what will make something be considered bad is the lack of depth, thought, and a detail to it making the spectrum of "bad music" a lot smaller meaning there's a lot less chance there's going to be a lot of diversity when it comes to peoples opinions on it.
thats the same reason i said i only really bother to give things low ratings if they're generally not considered bad or some sort of controversy over it, because in those sorts of cases its not automatically assumed that most people here will dislike it so it would actually make sense to express your opinion on it.
