heard this for the first time in a while at the gym. it all came back to me, the awesome riffs, the insane drums, the strangely human lyrics, and the same atmosphere.

it's like im on metal mountain and this is shining like lightning out the top

There's an atmosphere to this?

yeah there's an atmosphere, songs like zero tolerance, empty words, without judgment are all songs dealing with personal strife. 1000 eyes and symbolic acts could be social commentary. all I know is, when those riffs start and chuck's voice starts going that this is a death album

"There's an atmosphere to this?"

*rates this a 4*

When you catch that atmosphere you'll probably bump this to a 5.

The soft section in the middle of Without Judgment is beautiful

it's funny how morbid angel and death decided on their band names. MA tried to make music as evil sounding as possible constantly talking about death, while chuck said he named the band death "cause it was the cool thing to do at the time" but also to cope with the death of his brother.

Didn't Chuck say he didn't really like the name Death as a descriptor of their music anymore, but that they were basically stuck with it haha.

Well, it is a damn boring name. On the other hand, had that been the case, wouldn't he have released TSOP as Control Denied album as originally intended?

Thinking about it, Control Denied isn't much better as a band name tbh

I prefer Death, it's not that spectacular a name but gets the point across I guess.

The later Death albums would better be described by a name like "THOUGHT" lol. It just doesn't sound as badass.

Pretty awesome to lay claim to a name like "Death" as a metal band tbh
