Gmork.... :[
And no not yet Kill. ;] Seriously though won't be a 5, but it really did exceed all expectations for me which is probably why I
enjoy it so much. m/

Heritage was one of their best imo, so if PC sounds like updated, better version of it as everyone says, I'll definitely dig it fucking hard.
It's kind of similar to Heritage -- in the sense that it takes A LOT of influence from classic prog -- but it hardly sounds like it I think. I see PC as a kind of return to the mellower, prog-rock sides of Watershed (think "Hex Omega") and Ghost Reveries ("Atonement"). Obviously there's some Heritage type of sounds mixed in, but it's like it's trying to sound more rock-based than folk. There's some awesome songs in there like "Moon Above, Sun Below", "Elysian Woes", and "River" but I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about it. Not as heavy or as dynamic as I hoped it would be, but it's not bad. Not step up from Heritage but it's also not a step down. At least, that's me.

Agreed with that whole statement except where you said it's not a huge step up from this. Definitely their most diverse album to date though.

Agreed, I love how chill PC is too. Much freer and more engaging than this

The drumming is out of control, that's one thing that really stood out for me.

It feels more natural too and the emotion in it is so much better

huge step up from heritage

This one feels like it's all over the place at times. The new one feels more controlled with a little bit of a darker atmosphere. Not saying it's a "dark" album, but you get the point.

Absolutely, it feels much more confident and easygoing. Parts of this sound forced or cobbled together but PC just flows so well and feels really at home with itself

that part on moon sun is pretty damn scary tbh
|
| |
like they tried the whole ominous thing on lotus eater but it comes off kinda tacky
|
| |
I know right. River was a lot more upbeat than I thought it was going to be

I think so too. I dont know, I liked Heritage more than you did and I still think these too are pretty even with each other. They
kind of deliver where the other one failed to- at least that's how I see it. Heritage is more folk-based and weirder, while Pale
Communion is more focused and jams harder. Both are strong enough albums in my opinion though.

Second half is so cool and unpredictable, sounds like nothing they've ever done before

first half has rains and moon sun though...

Yeah I don't know which half I like better yet, only on my second listen

I don't think Faith In Others is as beautiful as Pleb makes it out to be, but it's still a good song. Moon is by far the best right now

Yeah Moon's my favorite
