Yeah that’s fair, I wouldn’t pit that song against any new songs in a cagematch I guess.

I mean if I put nostalgia aside and consider my current music tastes, I still prefer Pneumonia over A Moment, but I won’t die on this hill

There’s a shit ton of repetition in DTGL though, pretty sure almost every song is written in the same key, the guitarists use the same dissonant chords in almost every song, like it almost gets too samey at times. Which is something I love about Disambiguation and Voyeurist, shit is very diverse from track to track. So was Erase Me I guess…but not always in a good way

the songs are goin for similar vibes but the parts themselves only happen for about 8 or 16 bars or so before switching to something else. those albums may be more diverse from track to track, but less diverse within tracks (except disam since disam is perfect and their greatest accomplishment)

Production doesn't sound as complete garbage on my home speakers. Still feel like it lacks heavyness because of the mix tho. The drums suck so much

Found some time to check the new one. Said I wasn't going to do it today, I lied I guess. It's okay. Not great. Maybe it'll grow, but first listen nothing really stood out. Just a bunch of slightly heavier Erase Me type stuff.

Voyeurist is growing on me, probably gonna settle on a 4.5. And those first two songs are easy contenders for something i'd walk into a wrestling ring to.
