using sickness as a hero is probably what i'd consider the turning point for dissodeath since it inspired this quite heavily apparently

Sorry to butt in but as far as I know Atrocity's "Hallucinations" is the earliest tech death album I can think of

this isnt as heavy tone-wise as I thought it'd be. like guitar tones ig, which is good cuz I kinda adore this really angular-sounding vibe. it's all over the place so far, def seems "advanced" as six said. vocals are dec, strained enough to be cool but still a bit too growly for my tastes. drumming it too good for its own good. usually dislike this double kick beat stuff but since they switch it up so much it's never too annoying

the first time i listened to this, i literally couldn't decipher a single fucking note on this album. it was all just one giant cloud of guitar and drumming chaos. Your brain filters it after a few listens

Honestly, I can’t really remember a time when I listened to something and was at a loss to comprehend it. Having been a drummer for twelve years, rhythms are the very first thing I pick up on so following a song’s structure isn’t too difficult even if the other instruments are doing weird things. The rhythms here are pretty well-defined despite the guitars doing some wacky shit so once you lock into those rhythms it’s not too hard to figure out what the rest of the band is doing

Well I meant purely from a listening standpoint, I’ve honestly never tried to play anything from this lol. That’d probably be fun to try though

Nostalgia is a piece of cake to play. Well the first minute, then it suddenly becomes really hard.

"Nostalgia" is the best song to play on guitar off of this album
