i need to revist this
section.80 is one of my favorites of the decade and i love gkmc too but this just didnt connect with me the same
i trust in everyones opinion though and i need to give it a go

Still need to give a s.80 another go and I'm not a fan of gkmc but this is my favorite album of the year (which doesn't mean much since I've heard maybe 15 albums this year at most but w/e)

i fear that this was an intro to kendrick for a lot of people which is why it got so much love and fear it became overrated because of it but i am probably totally wrong about that and dont mean to come off as ignorant saying it
take the time and listen to s80 dude, its worth it and immediately enjoyable

i'm a big fan of GKMC but in general kendrick's albums are so long-winded to me it's hard to just sort of throw on & become better aquainted with or whatev
& so
haven't really gotten into this one as a whole just yet

S80 is a great album but it's not better than GKMC or TPAB.
btw, GKMC was definitely the introduction to Kendrick for a lot of people. I don't think a lot of people are hopping onto Kendrick from TPAB.

i like it more
maybe the other two are better as whole pieces of music or something, just better constructed, but the feel and atmosphere of s80 is definitely the best for me

for a lot of people you are definitely right but looking at the album sales that isnt true for the general population, in general :P
gkmc was his coming out party but tpab definitely got more attention

well there was a handful of sorry souls who didn't even like Good Kid but liked this so it was definitely something of a "crossover" in that sense
but yeah Good Kid was definitely his first big break or whatever

Not really seeing how this could be the introduction to Kendrick when it was one of the most hyped up albums of the year wayyyyy before it even came out or leaked. Plus, the reception of this as far as I've seen has been more mixed than gkmc, to the general public, since a lot of people think this is "too chill" and doesn't have enough bangers, or it's too political or whatever
I do think it brought a lot of new fans though, I know a lot of people who were not fans of his previous work but liked this
