Well holy shit what a show it was. This band has not missed a step and Stephen's voice is as good as ever

So what next, hopefully a new album?

Edit: nvm just found an interview where Christian says no and also calls this "a reconciliation, not a reunion"

:-(

He said pretty much the same thing at the show. It's coming together to make some memories, not a reforming of the band. But man, what a memory it was!

Yeah the band owes us nothing. Cool to see them still kickin' and helping their fans make more memories.

They came to my province exactly once, in 2010. For some reason or another, I didn't know and didn't go. They never came close to coming back. One of the bigger disappointments of my life.

Is Edmonton not a place bands go through usually?

It's actually a pretty good place for getting mid-sized metal shows, but a bit iffy otherwise. A capital city, but just too far north for most bands to bother. We're actually the northern-most city in North America with a population over 1 million.

The tumble in quality from Cities to New Surrender is just whoa. They picked it up after that one though.

New Surrender isn’t bad, it just pales in comparison to this and NTFP

I would actually say it's their worst! Even worse than the debut, which isn't exactly... good. But yes, Cities is almost classic-tier. Actually, I shall go and listen to it right now.

Cities, Id agree, is by far their best and almost classic... gotta give it a few more listens and it’ll probably jump to a straight classic

New Surrender is the weakest of the first four for me but still great. The debut gets far too much hate though, it's one of their best in my eyes.

Just got my tickets to see them in Chicago! I’m ridiculously excited. I remember all the times in high school when I wanted to make the trek but couldn’t convince my parents. Unbelievably excited!

If it's anything like the show I saw you're gonna have the time of your life.

I feel like New Surrender just has the most filler of all of their albums. The highs are so high though
