I can only go back to when I got this back when it released; I was already onboard with them through ‘Oceanic’, but when the aforementioned beast of an opener hit, I was like “F-f-fuuuuuuUUUCK!!!!!”, and over the course of the album’s runtime, and the 18 years since, its power hasn’t diminished.

It’s the best album, by the best band in the genre as far as I’m concerned.
